Pixelstitch is a collaboration project where traditional cross stitching merges with contemporary pixel graphics.
Pixelstitch was founded in 2007 when I got fed up with the classic cross stitch designs of unicorns, roses, sunsets and rainbows. Surrounded by pixel-pusher friends, the idea was born that the designs would be done by the professionals and I, Sannaliina, would execute them into their physical form.
The designs are made by professional pixel artists, graphic designers and other pixel graphics enthusiasts. The project is international and open to new participants. I hope the project will be as broad and diverse as possible, so the more people get to submit their designs the better.
Once enough pieces are made they will be displayed in an exhibition.

About the Author
I have been cross stitching since 1996. In the Pixelstitch project I position myself as realizer of the pictures--doing the work to get the pictures on the real canvas--and the author and organizer of the project.
During the years I have stitched all kinds of pictures. Having other people to contribute new original pictures has inspired me to carry on with my hobby even if at times the work seems as a labour in solitude. It's nice to know that someone is always waiting for their finished picture.
Besides cross stitching I do accounting for artists and sing in a couple of ensembles.
How to get Involved
It doesn't matter if you are a game artist or a housewife. The most important thing is that you love pixels!
I'm looking for original pictures to stitch. The dimensions of the picture can be anything you like and you can use as many color as you like. For practical reasons, try to keep the number of pixels around 2500, although I'm always interested in awesome designs even if they are larger than that.
The only "requirement" I have for everyone who gets their pictures stitched is that they also make a pixel logo for Pixelstitch.
